Supplement Questions

Postby Sebastian on Sat Mar 15, 2008 10:32 am

A recent set of questions I was asked about supplements by someone just starting the Naturally Massive Program:

1. Which type of Powder do you use? Egg, Whey or Casein? Or do you use a combination? I know that each has different absorption speeds and different bio contents. Also which brands would you recommend as most effective (or not a rip off rather)

2. Is it L-Glutamine I am suppose to use and if so what brand would you recommend?

3. What fat burner would you recommend?

Responses:

1. I use a good whey protein. The best version is to get whey isolate, but it costs a bit more than regular whey. If you get regular whey protein that is fine as well, as you will still get lots by consuming your five or six meals/snacks a day.

2. Any pure l-Glutamine product is fine. The trick is to avoid any crazy combinations that mix in a lot HMB or sugar, which just costs you more money for less product and excess junk calories, in some cases.

3. Hydroxycut is fairly good, but all fat burners have become a bit lack luster these days. You can get a similar effect by adding spice to your meals and drinking a good cup of java before a workout, as the real differentiator with fat burners used to be ephedrine and that is no longer sold over the counter.

Good luck,

Sebastian

Supplement questions/fat burners

Postby johnmclean on Sat Apr 26, 2008 2:37 pm

Have either one of you considered Animal Cuts by Universal Nutrition. It has a lot of ingredients (some of which are mildly controversial but what fat burner isn't) and it does rip weight of pretty quick with no jitters.

Hi John,

I haven't used Animal Cuts personaly, but it does seem to have become very popular with a number of trainers. The product has been around for a while in various forms and appears to have evolved into one of the better choices for fat burners out there.

Cheers

You need at least 165 grams of protein a day, based on your body weight of 75 kgs. You can easily do this without supplements. Protein powders are used simply because it is more convienient to eat frequently when using them. Be sure to spread the required amount out over 5 or 6 meals instead of just three meals a day though
