If you're not on any of the programs I associated with me, but still have questions about your diet in general. Here is where you may find a few answers to those general questions.

Pregnancy and Omegas/Vitamins

I would like to ask a couple of questions: What is the proper amount to take daily in regards to vitamin supplements. I take a daily multi- vitamin, glucosamine, Omega 3/6/9, and vitamin C. My wife is pregnant and I would like to know if this is safe for her.

Response:

Omega 3/6/9 fats are important. However, you are less likely to need to supplement with omega 6 and 9 fats, since they are more common in the North American diet. That's not to say that you should avoid them altogther, since you can find some great combination oils out there. One of these is called Udo's oil. It has a little 6 and 9 fats, with a heavier dose of omega 3.

These fats help to regulate hormone balance in the body, which can be very important for pregnant women. She may also find that these fats will help control cravings for sugar as well. Quantity wise I would suggest between one and two Table spoons per day. These can be turned into salad dressings or added to fruit smoothies. Just make sure you don't fry the oil or store it unrefridgerated or near a lot of light. All of the aforementioned will kill the oils enzymes.

As for the vitamin C. This is a great idea, but make sure she drinks ample water with this increase, since vitamin C can be a problem in higher doses if you are perpetually dehydrated or not drinking enough water.

I hope that helps.
