Hey Todd,
Good to hear from you my friend. I have encountered a little on this and trying to manage the rules around this concept can go from moderate to highly detailed.
I'm not certain of your take on it all, but I have seen some people try this with the misunderstanding that you should never combine any form of carb with protein. However, I tend to feel that protein combined with high fiber / low starch sources are fine. From a toxin stand point I wuld think it less good to combine starchy carbs with protein, considering the way digestive juices handle starch vs protein.
All in all I would say watching food combinations is not that hard if you are getting ready for a contest or leaning down on a fairly strict diet, but it could be hard to maintain as a lifestyle.
The other thing I would keep in mind is that the build up of toxins in body fat is more a problem because of processed foods or lack, of whole food consumption, than it mere poor combination of otherwise healthy food.
Food processing often eliminates nutrients from the foods, requiring your body to use its own vitamin and mineral stores. These foods also produces unnecessary spikes in insulin and because fiber is removed, in many cases, your intestinal tract can become layered with mucosum, wich increases toxins in the body's fat tissues.
If I were to look at the bbig picture and consider how to best eliminate toxins stored in fat, I would likely focus on whole foods as a regular part of my diet, get strict for a few months out of the year and watch combinations at that time, maybe consider a colonic cleans once a year, and keep my water inatake high on a regular basis.
There are likely other approaches, some more strict than others, but this is what I would shoot for to keep fat toxins down.
Cheers,
